I read your response two times, with a hour gap in between.

It hit me entirely differently the second time compared with the first.

The first time I read your post, I thought you were referring to the American Flag.

But after rereading it what I think you mean is they are creating a red white and blue motiff out of anything they sell.

That is creepy, but perhaps more profitable.

Well, lets expose the crassness now in an effort to quell the need by others to be creative at a later date.

NO "going out of business" commercials with a shot of the WTC crumbling.

Since the destruction was caused by a terrorist act, we either already have laws or should have a law that prevents the commercialization of such an act to sell private enterprise products....although that could not include education....sigh...

There are laws on the books that prevent those convicted of heinous crimes to not profit from their act.

Has any commercial ever been made showing the Rodney King beating footage?

Perhaps there is a fine line to consider here...profiting from the WTC disaster to educate about how buildings are made is one thing...or even if a hospital wants to promote how it operates in times of tragedy might even be acceptable...as long as they already have a proven track record...

So the passing of time may someday mean the WTC news event will crossover to sell some type of product.

EITheR way, I'm not buying it.

Never dreamed the mayor would be the one so overtly capitalizing. Interviews on TV are one thing, but actually taping a commercial for a political candidate from California, running in California, is, sadly, profiteering from the WTC.
